Join GLOBE at Fruits and Blend for a Community Awards Q&A

With nominations closing at the end of this month, join GLOBE for a Community Awards Q&A during the August Fruits and Blend at CQ at 6pm on August 21.

Anyone with questions about the awards, whether it is to nominate, sponsor or just to attend the gala event, will be able to get them answered at GLOBE’s regular social gathering.

GLOBE President David Micallef has had a lot of questions about the upcoming awards: “We’ve had community groups, individuals and organisations contacting us, eager to get as much information as possible,” Mr Micallef said.

“With nominations closing in less than three weeks, we want to give everyone the chance to nominate and be a part of this amazing experience. Joining our social Fruits and Blend night is a great opportunity not only to ask questions, but to meet other individuals and groups that are taking part in the awards.”

GLOBE’s Fruits and Blend is a monthly social and networking evening for individuals, businesses and groups to join together in a safe GLBTI friendly place. Committee members will be available throughout the night to discuss the awards and a Q&A session will be held with GLOBE President David Micallef. Tickets can be purchased at Eventbrite.

GLOBE has confirmed the AFL as a sponsor for the Sports Person of the Year award and the Art Series Hotels as the sponsor for the Artist of the Year Award.

“It is a very proud moment for GLOBE to have the support of the AFL as a sponsor for our sports category.”

“We still other categories that require sponsors and I encourage individuals, businesses and organsiations to get in contact with GLOBE to discuss sponsorship,” Mr Micallef added.

There are four categories that individuals and groups can self-nominate for: A Healthy Community, Networking the GLBTI Community, Excellence in Business and Protecting Our Community.

The six individual awards require a nomination from a third party: Media Excellence, Artist of the Year, Straight Ally of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Sports Person of the Year and the GLOBE GLBTI person of the Year.
