If your organisation works to improve the health of the LGBTI community in Victoria, remember to begin your planning for the 2016 GLOBE Community Awards.
The awards will be held this year on Friday 21 October 2016 with nominations launching in late July. The awards celebrate the outstanding work and achievement that goes on in Victoria to support people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex.
The healthy community category is open to any organisation or individual for work in improving the physical and/or mental health of the LGBTI community in Victoria. This can be through research, health promotion or the delivery of health activities within Victoria.
Previous winners have included Switchboard Victoria, for their ongoing provision of peer-based volunteer telephone, web counseling and home visitor services, and Victorian Aids Council for their Young and Gay Group who provide support services to LGBTI people.
